晨七点起。九点早餐。至Boylston Hall o 阅熊知臼编《东北县治纪要》。十点半看牙医(5 Boylston St. ) Dr. MacDonald 0 渠在此Building 业牙医已廿八年，每日自九点至下午六点，日以为常，第)次大战回后即业此云。又谓Harvard Sq. 有卅位牙医生，余坐椅上对门即可见三个牙医之招牌。今日为补右下六岁molar ，即第一臼牙也，此牙尚活，故觉灵敏。上次所补左上五则神经已取出矣。
二点半至Geographical Institute 地理所昕Brooks 讲。四点半至Emerson Hall楼下昕Wm. Emest Hocking (Prof. of Natural Religion , Moral Philosophy & Politics)讲Philosophy of Law 法律的哲学，系Wm. James 纪念讲演，今日为第五讲，题为Right of Prope即& Liberty 财产和自由的权利，昕者近百人，氏以为Right to do one’stask 可分为二种: ( 1 ) Right of Liberty , ( 2 ) Right of Property 0 人生有欲望生存unalienable right to live & continue to live. Liberty is the ultimate condition to do that.Freedom of personality , of action , expression , association , these are the fundamentalideas of living. Liberty depends upon the sincerity of your carrying on , also dependsupon the interrelation with other men. Property law is impo口ant ， essentially a principleof separation. Nature like light and air are common , property is private. Without property, without hospitality.
