Jian Peng is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics, College of Science, Technology and Agriculture, Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  His research focuses on computer vision, signal processing, mobile robot navigation, and multiple robot coordination for complex tasks.

During 2004 - 2005 academic year, he was a Research Associate working in the Intelligent Control System Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN.  He worked as a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Engineering, Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY during the 2003 - 2004 academic year.

He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (minor in Computer Science) from Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, School of Engineering, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN in May, 2004.
