	Dr. Zhao Xu received B.Eng, M.Eng and Ph.D from Zhejiang University (China), National University of Singapore, and The University of Queensland in 1996, 2002 and 2006 respectively. He joined as an Assistant Professor, and later became Associate Professor, at Centre for Electric Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) since 2006. In Feb 2010, He joined Department of Electrical Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), where he is now Associate Professor and Leader of Smart Grid Research Area.		许昭，男，香港理工大学终身正教授、博士生导师、IEEE PES联合主席、IEEE香港分会主席、电力系统实验室主任、丹麦技术大学客座外籍科学家。1996年获浙江大学电机工程系学士学位，2003年获新加坡国立大学工程硕士学位，2006年获澳大利亚昆士兰大学电机工程博士学位。2006至2010年初，在丹麦技术大学（DTU）电气技术中心先后担任助理教授和副教授职位。2010年2月起任教于香港理工大学电机系。
			<br>主要研究领域包括电力系统系统规划运行，负荷侧管理，风电系统及其并网，及智能电动汽车联网。在IEEE杂志及国际会议发表论文超过80篇，多次受邀在国际会议发表演讲，有着风能和电动汽车并网研究的丰富经验。
			<br>2014年“IEEE现代启发式优化算法与最优潮流求解问题”大赛中获得了5项最佳算法奖（Top Five Best Algorithm Award）。2017荣获年度IEEE IES Best Chapter Award；2017年获得教育部颁发的“高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学一等奖”。

He has secured more than 20 million HK$ research funding from local and overseas authorities and organizations.
