Ibrar Hussain

Prof. Dr. Ibrar Hussain, currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and is the Founding-Head of the Department of Software Engineering. He is also a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Engineering & IT at Shinawatra University, Thailand, and has previously held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology at the University of Lahore. Dr. Ibrar Hussain holds an MS in Information Management (Information Retrieval) from Queen Mary, University of London, UK, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Zhejiang University, P.R. China.
With over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, and information system development, he has made significant contributions to the academic sectors in Pakistan. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous Computing, Accessibility, and Location-based Services. He is currently focused on developing intelligent systems to improve the human condition and enhancing auditory feedback for non-graphical user interfaces using non-speech sounds. Dr. Ibrar Hussain is the author of the book "Artificial Intelligence & Blockchain in Cyber Physical Systems" published by Taylor & Francis and has published numerous papers in high-impact factor journals and premier conferences. As of 2023, Google Scholar reports over 1000 citations to his work. Notably, his paper published in Data & Knowledge Engineering (DKE) [Elsevier] in 2015 received the Best Paper Award in 2018. He is an HEC Approved Supervisor, a senior member of IEEE, and a member of EAI and ICAD.
